Waziri Hausa advocates for proper documentation of culture and tradition …… donates bus to Center for Ilorin Studies (UNILORIN) The Wazirin Hausa , Alhaji Yakubu Gobir has advocated for proper documentation of historical events, tradition and culture of the Ilorin Emirate for research purposes. Speaking at the Book presentation and Meritorious Awards of Excellence of the Centre for Ilorin Studies, University of Ilorin, Waziri Gobir who represented an awardee – Dan Masani Daura, Alhaji Sanni Zangon Daura at the event, said there is a strong link between the Hausas in Ilorin Emirate and Daura Kingdom. rin Studies in acquiring, preserving and interpreting scriptures and heritage of society and nature. Waziri Yakubu Gobir who said that he has a passion for history and culture, noted that authentic cultural and natural heritage must be well kept in a gallery for documentation and future purposes. According to him, at a recent gathering of Gobirawa from Nigeria and Niger Republic held at Uthman Dan Fodio University Sokoto , Dr Jawando of the Centre presented a very well researched and detailed account of the history of the Gobirs in the Ilorin Emirate – which will be featured in a book on the history of the Gobir Empire. He therefore, commended the Centre of Ilorin Studies for collecting and keeping the artifacts, manuscripts and publications of the Ilorin Emirate. The Waziri Hausa, later made a pledge of a befitting vehicle for the Centre to enable it discharge its roles and responsibilities and also announced a donation of one million Naira on behalf of Alhaji Zango Daura.
