Kwara APC group hails police on prompt response to vandalization of APC billboards
We are pleased with the stern warning issued by the Kwara State Command of Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to miscreants and agents of some desperate politicians that vandalized billboards belonging to APC gubernatorial candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq.
The vandalization spree that was carried out less than 24 hours after a socio-cultural event organised by Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) was disrupted points in a particular direction.
This is akin to the Yoruba proverb that a witch cried late last night and a baby was lost in the following morning to a mysterious death. Would anyone be wrong to blame those who boastfully disrupted a cultural event as the new vandals in town?
The police will need to do more by apprehending all those connected with the vandalization of our campaign assets and billboards on record time.
The force should be reminded that those who made attempt on the life of Hon. Raheem Tunji Olawuyi during his campaign in November are still working freely on the streets.
These miscreants are emboldened not only because electioneering period is their season but they allegedly enjoy support from those in authority thereby making their business blossom.
There are unconfirmed reports that some individuals have been slated for attack by agents of the desperadoes in our state. The events of the recent past allude to this assertion.
We therefore enjoin the force to promptly swing into action and bring these perpetrators of evil into book before they up their nefarious activities into a large scale.
