The year 2019 began with a lot of prayers and optimism from all who witness the new dawn.
While a lot of families spent their time at the various places of worship, for some others it is a double celebration as they welcome new additions.
As it is tradition, the wife of the Kwara Stte Governor, Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed was around the hospitals to celebrate with such family and to also present the new year gifts to the first babies of the year.
The first babay of the year 2019 was delivered by Mrs Mujidat Olanrewaju at around 12:08 am in the morning at the general Hospital, Ilorin.
At the General Hospital Tsaragi in Edu Local Government, the first baby is a boy delivered by Mrs Mariam Umar at around 12:45 O’clock in the morning. Also at the Primary Health care center, Ogunnugun, Shawo district, Offa, the first baby of the year was delivered by Mrs Balikis Abdulateef at 1:20 O’clock in the morning.
Wife of the State Governor, Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed who was accompanied on the visit by the Commissioner for Women affairs & special duties, Alhaja Taibat Ayinde Ahmed, directors & staffs of the MINISTRY, Special Adviser to Her Excellency, Alhaji Rasheed Lanre Bello, Director of Social welfares LEAH Foundation, Mrs. Bukola Akinleye and many others.
She advised parents to always keep watch over their children to protect them from the menace in the society. She presented the families with cash donations and gifts which she said are gestures to appreciate God for his faithfulness in 2018 while praying for a fruitful 2019.
Mother of the first baby in Kwara State, Mrs Mujidat Olarewaju could not contain her joy as she expressed gratitude to the wife of the state governor.
There was also presentation of cash donations and gifts to parents of the second and third babies delivered at each of the hospitals visited.
Her Excellency, also paid a courtesy visit to HRH Emir of Tsaragi Alh. Aliu Abdulahi Kpoto In his palace. She thanked the Emir for his noble role in ensuring that peace and harmony is sustained in the state and prayed that God will continue to grant him long life in the reigns of his fathers.
The emir in his presponse, appreciated her excellency’s efforts in bringing unity and supports to the State. He also thanked her for being a pillar of supports to her husband and prayed that God will protect and bless her with more wisdom and understanding.
