Governor Abdulrazaq Will Continue To Prioritize Every Kwaran Welfare- Commissioner
Kwara State Commissioner of Transport and Works, Engr Suleiman Rotimi on Sunday reiterated that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq will continue to prioritise the welfare and well being of every kwaran, irrespective of their class or social status.
The Commissioner disclosed this during a meeting with Motorcycle (Okada) Riders State executive, COVID-19 Palliative Committee and other stakeholders in his office.
Engr Rotimi Suleiman said Governor Abdulrazaq is deeply concerned about impact of lockdown on the people, noting that staying at home and adhering to precautionary measures remain the best ways to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
He thanked the leaders of Okada Rider Associations over compliance of their members with Total Lockdown and assured them of Governor Abdulrazaq’s consideration of measures to assist them during the lockdown and afterwards.
The Chairmen of seven Motorcyclist Associations in the state namely: Orisun Commercial, Champion, Happiness, Awareness, Heritage, NURTW and Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) attended the meeting.
A member of Palliative Committee, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, Chief Press Secretary to Kwara Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye and representatives of Mekunu Agenda and ENetSUD were present at the meeting.
The Commissioner also presented hand sanitizers and sensitization materials to Motorcyclist Associations Executive.
