Kwara plans Investment Promotion House for Fate roundabout

The proposed Kwara State Investment Promotion Agency (KWIPA) is to be housed at a government facility in Fate roundabout GRA (Ilorin) as part of an ongoing effort to reposition the state for socioeconomic growth, a statement has said.

The KWIPA house is to be located on the land housing the Ilorin South/Ilorin East/Ilorin West local government chairmen’s chalets at Fate roundabout, which belongs to the state government, according to the statement by the Commissioner for Communications Harriet Afolabi-Oshatimehin.

The government will allocate new lands to the affected local governments in the new GRA Ilorin, it added.

The KWIPA Bill is currently before the House of Assembly for consideration. When passed and assented to, the agency is to streamline investment processes and provide all services under one roof, the statement added.

It will be responsible for coordinating investment facilitation, implementing ease of doing business policy reforms, and ensuring enforceable public-private partnership agreements, according to the statement.

The KWIPA will offer services such as Information services and Investment Preparation; Investment Proposals and Tours; Consulting and Project management; Facilitating contacts, negotiations with authorities; Organising Recruitment and identifying suitable properties;

Post- investment/aftercare services; and 24/7, 365 days Business Concierge Services.
