Govt Community Driven Rural Development (CDRD) agenda will accommodate only registered CDAs

 Press Statement:

Govt Community Driven Rural Development (CDRD) agenda will accommodate only registered CDAs

It is important to bring to the attention of the public that, the Community Driven Rural Development (CDRD) agenda of Kwara State government has taken off with the successful training of community development officers on Tuesday 25th August, 2020.

We are moving to the next stage on the timeline that will lead to the conduct of participatory rural appraisal (PRA) which will help us with the community plan of action (CPA). Meanwhile, community development officers are going to commence the stratification of CDAs by mid of this month into community development councils (CDC) at local government, senatorial district and state levels that will eventually be the apex stratum of our development vehicle.

However, the distribution of registered community development associations (CDAs) shows that, many have not keyed into the agenda. This is the summary according to senatorial districts:

Kwara North

(1.) Baruteen – 11

(2.) Edu – 85

(3.) Kaiama – 10

(4.) Moro – 43

(5.) Patigi – 19

Kwara Central

(1.) Asa – 45

(2.) Ilorin East – 31

(3.) Ilorin South – 84

(4.) Ilorin West – 52

Kwara South

(1.) Ekiti – 10

(2.) Ifelodun – 60

(3.) Irepodun – 21

(4.) Isin – 08

(5.) Offa – 15

(6.) Oke-Ero – 08

(7.) Oyun – 15

Therefore, our communities are invited to revalidate their registration for those that registered before 2020, while we appeal to those unregistered to do so without further delay. We are making this appeal so that, no community will be left behind in the drive for socio-economic development of our rural communities. Communities willing to be registered should visit Room 11, Ministry of local government, chieftaincy affairs and community development.
